Greater DC Diaper Bank (GDCDB), Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Prince George's County Chapter, the Alpha Gamma Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the Willow Oak (MD) Chapter of The Links Incorporated are thrilled to present the first-ever Hygiene Kitting and Diaper Drive Prince George's County on October 4, 2025 from 9:00a - 12:00p at the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center.
Spearheaded by GDCDB Board Member, Margaret Bryant Rashid, this event is presented in partnership with Prince George's County Council Member Wala Blegay, Prince George's County Council Member Ingrid Watson, University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center, and several civic and community partners serving Prince George’s County. Each organization is rallying its members to contribute dollars and products to help build essential hygiene kits packed with dignity, care, and impact.

In advance of the event: Groups will set up their own fundraising pages on this platform to gather dollars, diapers or hygiene product donations, or both. All team goals roll up into the overall event goals (viewable on the main page). Individual members of the groups are invited to set up their own sub-pages to further contribute to raising dollars and products. All individual dollars and products will roll up into the group's goals.
- Please note: All kitting products must be provided to GDCDB by September 15 at 5:00 PM to be included in the kitting event. Ensure all items are clearly marked "Prince George's Kitting Event" either on the bags/boxes that are dropped off OR in the Amazon gift note, if you are purchasing through one of our links.
Greater DC Diaper Bank is located at 8860 Monard Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20910. Kitting products may be dropped off Monday -
Friday from 9:00a - 3:00p or by special appointment by contacting
volunteer@dcdiaperbank.org.
Kitting products (e.g. adult hygiene items and period products) brought to the event day-of will NOT be utilized that day.
Please note, the event organizers kindly request that you do not drop off diapers, training pants/Pull-Ups or diaper cream to
Greater DC Diaper Bank in advance of the event. Instead, please hold these items and bring them to the 10/4 event, arrange to drop
them off to a participating group before 10/1, or
purchase from this link by 10/4.
During the event: Pre-registered volunteers (see below) will join the event to assemble hygiene kits. Members of the public are invited to drop off diapers (any brand/size), training pants/pull-ups (any brand/size), and diaper cream (any brand/size) at the drop-off location outside the event. **PLEASE NOTE: Diapers and hygiene items will NOT be distributed at this event.**
Pre-registered youth volunteers will support event set-up, hygiene product replenishment at kitting stations, diaper and diaper cream collection at the drop-off point, packaging all kits and other product donation for transport to GDCDB, event clean-up, and additional duties as assigned.
All volunteers who wish to participate in the October 4, 2025 event on-site MUST register to attend (Link to Follow).
